Great Jobs Just Not In Louisiana

Great Jobs for College Graduates – Just Not in Louisiana!

These are the top jobs available and pay the most money. How many of these type jobs do you think Louisiana College Graduates can find in our State? Maybe it’s time to restructure higher education and prepare our graduates for 21st Century Jobs.

Let’s stop this fallacy that Louisiana through TOPS covers 100% of the tuition for our qualified students. This is just a bold faced perpetrated lie by our elected officials. At UL Lafayette Students each semester pay a STEP (Student Technology Enhancement Program) fee of approximately $2,500. That’s a total of around $20,000 if they finish school in 4 years. These STEP fees and other similar type fees at other state colleges are just poorly disguised additional “Tuition” costs.

] So now our Louisiana college graduates have $20,000 more in student loans and have to go out of state to find decent paying jobs. This once again “assumes” our programs have prepared them for these high demand jobs. Tennessee has a program to pay “Full Tuition” for students. Can’t we learn from them? “Let’s Take Back Louisiana” for its Citizens, our future generations depend on it.
